The Impact of HicksStrong Inc. on Our Nation's Heroes

It was an honor for Jolee and I, Michael Hicks, to recently sit down with Commander Tom and Boris from the Boris and Robyn Show on WPDH 101.5. We had the important opportunity to share the story behind HicksStrong Inc. and the critical work we're doing to support our nation's heroes.

Our Journey Begins

Our journey with HicksStrong Inc. began from a place of unimaginable pain. Just five months after losing our beloved son Macoy, Sienna's big brother, we knew we had to transform our grief into a driving force for good. Macoy's spirit and the challenges he faced as a service member ignited a fire in us. We wanted to ensure that others like him would not feel alone. They deserve access to the help they need.

During the interview, I spoke about how HicksStrong Inc. is dedicated to connecting service members, veterans, and their families with qualified therapists through telehealth. We understand that the invisible wounds of service—PTSD, anxiety, depression—are very real. Accessing timely, confidential care can be a significant barrier. HicksStrong steps in to bridge that gap. We not only make the connection but also cover the cost of therapy sessions. We want to remove every obstacle that stands between our heroes and the healing they seek.

The Hug Mug Program

I also had the chance to highlight our Hug Mug program. What started as a local initiative has blossomed into something truly special. It touches thousands of lives all across the country. Each Hug Mug is more than just a mug; it's a tangible symbol of love, support, and gratitude. They are hand-painted and sent to service members. These mugs remind them that they are cherished and that a community cares for them.

The positive feedback we receive from both the creators and recipients of these mugs is a constant reminder of the power of simple, heartfelt gestures. For many, receiving a Hug Mug is more than a gift; it’s a source of comfort and encouragement during difficult times.

The Need for Support

However, the crucial reality is that the work of HicksStrong Inc. relies heavily on the generosity and support of our community. The need for mental health services for our military personnel and veterans is immense. The demand for our programs continues to grow.
